Mark McManus was unanimously elected as the United Association's General President at the UA's 39th General Convention. In November 2016 he assumed his new position leading the nation's most progressive and influential trade union.
As General President, Mark is responsible for supervising the day-to-day affairs of the United Association and for decisions concerning internal union governance, as well as rendering decisions and adjusting disputes, and other matters affecting the organization. He is chairman of the UA General Executive Board, UA Strategic Planning Committee and supervises the development and implementation of all major policies and programs of the United Association.
Mark represents the face of the United Association in dealings with high-level government officials, contractors, contractor associations, project owner organizations, fellow labor unions and the general public.
Mike Pleasant, Assistant General President, has been a member of the United Association for more than 34 years and throughout those years he not only learned the skills of his trade, but at the same time, he has risen to the highest levels of leadership in the UA. At the 39th General Convention of the UA he was unanimously elected to continue to serve as the Assistant General President for the next five years. Additionally, he continues to serve as President and Labor Co-Chair of the NMAPC and also continues to administer the UA/IBEW Instrument Tech Agreement and the UA National Specialty Agreement.
Scott has over fifteen years of experience as an executive coach and organization/leadership development consultant. He has worked domestically and internationally with companies in a variety of industries. A few of his past clients include Alcoa, the Boston Globe, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Coca-Cola, Fifth Third Bank, KeyCorp, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Pemex Gas y Petroquimica Basica, Roadway Express, Sabre Inc.,/Travelocity, Sherwin Williams and the Smucker Company. The focus of this work has been on leader assessment and development, organization development, change management, executive coaching and performance management.
